Relief from occasional bloating, abdominal discomfort
Atrantil is a botanical blend of polyphenols developed by a gastroenterologist to help relieve bloating and abdominal discomfort (with or without constipation or diarrhoea) caused by gas in the gut. It is commonly used by those with SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth) especially the type of SIBO that is accompanied by constipation (and usually caused by methane-producing bacteria).
New research shows that the bloating problems start with methane producing archaebacteria high in the small intestine. When left untreated, these out-of-place bacteria feed off the foods you eat and create methane gas, leaving you bloated and uncomfortable.
Atrantil contains a proprietary blend of botanical extracts that work in 3 ways:
Peppermint - A natural antispasmodic, Atrantil uses the whole leaf extract (not just oil) to briefly relax the small bowel which in turn allows Quebracho and Horse Chestnut work to more efficiently.
Quebracho - A natural and very complex polyphenol which soaks up the hydrogen (the fuel needed for methane production), and also binds to and disrupts the cell wall of the archaebacteria (this weakens and stresses the methane producer).
Horse Chestnut - A natural inhibitor to the enzyme that allows methane to be produced, this extract enters the archaebacteria cell through the disrupted cell wall and shuts down the methane producing mechanism.
All three of the natural ingredients in Atrantil are polyphenols. After their work is done in the small bowel, they move to the colon where they are naturally cleaved and broken down into beneficial compounds, making them great prebiotics.
So this product had changed since I last got it. It's now 2 separate tunes and you apply one first and leave it, then wipe off and apply the 2nd. I think it's harder to get it right with this method. Results were a bit too much dye past the outlines of my eyebrows which took a few days to subside. Now it looks great. Will have to get used to this different design and how I can make it work for me. I prefer a lighter treatment.
