Benadryl Chesty Cough and Nasal Congestion is a non-drowsy double action formula. It combines 2 ingredients to effectively relieve a heavy chesty cough and clears a blocked or runny nose.
Benadryl Chesty Cough and Nasal Congestion combines 2 ingredients guaiphenesin and phenylephrine.
Guaiphenesin is a cough expectorant that helps to expel mucus from your chest.
Phenylephrine Hydrochloride is a decongestant that reduces the swelling (blocked nose) and secretions (runny nose) in the nasal passages and sinuses allowing the passages behind the nose and above the eyes to clear.

Directions
Children 6 to 12 years: Give 5ml every 4 hours as required.
Adults and children over 12 years: Take 10ml every 4 hours as required.
No more than 6 doses in 24 hours.
Warning
Do not use in children under 6 years old.
For children 6 to under 12 years, consult a healthcare professional before use.
Do not take longer than a few days, unless directed by a doctor. If symptoms persist for more than 48 hours or are accompanied by fever, discontinue use and consult a doctor.
Ask your doctor before use if you:
- have high blood pressure
- are taking anti-depressants
- have heart problems
- are pregnant
Phenylephrine hydrochloride may cause sleeplessness in some people.
Keep to recommended dose. If an overdose is taken or suspected, ring the Poison Information Centre New Zealand 0800 764 766 or go to a hospital straight away even if you feel well because of the risk of delayed serious liver damage.
