Comvita has created the PFL standard for Propolis Flavonoids to show the concentration of flavonoids found in 2 propolis tablets. PFL15 delivers at least 15mg of Propolis flavonoids per 2 chewable tablets.
Propolis is a natural resin created by bees to build and protect their hives from diseases. Propolis is made from buds of conifer and poplar trees, beeswax and other bee secretions.
Historically, propolis was used to treat abscesses and heal wounds. Studies suggest propolis has anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.
Some evidence suggests that propolis and some of its components may stop the growth of Helicobacter pylori, the stomach ulcer causing bacteria.
Active ingredients per 2 chewable tablets:
Propolis extract equivalent to 200mg of pure propolis
providing 15mg of propolis flavonoids
Also cotains the following tableting aids:
Cellulose-microcrystalline (bulking agent), isomalt (bulking agent), glyceryl monostearate (stabiliser), silicon dioxide (anticaking agent).
Adults - Take 4 - 8 tablets daily with food.
Propolis may cause severe allergic reactions. Do not use if you are allergic to propolis, bee stings, bee products or Balsam of Peru.
