Solgar Quercetin Complex is a unique synergistic formula with quercetin, bromelain and Ester-C for antioxidant protection as well as natural seasonal support.
Quercetin is a flavonoid found naturally in a variety of fruits and vegetables. It possesses antioxidant properties which help to stabilize cell membranes. Laboratory tests show quercetin prevents immune cells from releasing histamines, chemicals that cause allergic reactions such as runny nose, watery eyes and hives.
Ester-C® Plus provides a patented, pH neutral (non acidic), form of vitamin C that is gentle on the stomach. Ester-C® Plus offers the additional benefits of incorporating acerola berry, citrus bioflavonoids, rutin and rose hips.
This formula also features bromelain, a natural enzyme derived from pineapple. Bromelain may help reduce cough and nasal mucus and relieve hayfever symptoms.

Warning
Quercetin is generally considered safe. Side effects may include headache and upset stomach. Preliminary evidence suggests that a byproduct of quercetin can lead to a loss of protein function. Very high doses of quercetin may damage the kidneys. You should take periodic breaks from taking quercetin.
Pregnant and breastfeeding women and people with kidney disease should avoid quercetin.
At high doses (greater than 1 g per day), there are some reports of damage to the kidneys.
Quercetin may enhance the effects of anticoagulants such as warfarin and aspirin, increasing your risk for bleeding.
